History of Our Society
The society was formed in March 1999 by a small group of dedicated
metal detector users. At the present time the society has a fixed membership of 45 adults and a small junior members section. We also have a local Finds Liaison
Officer (FLO) from the Notts/Derby region. The FLO comes along to many of our
meetings where she records members' finds and assists with identification. Over the years the society have been
involved in organising events, rallies etc for the purpose of raising funds for various charities, to date just over £20,000.
has been raised. The society is affiliated to the "National Council For Metal Detecting" who provide each member
with insurance cover.
